Bald Eagle Finger Puppet Free Crochet Pattern

Here's the FREE pattern!


YARN: Light (3) - White, Brown and Black MATERIALS: 2.75 mm Crochet Hook; Yarn Needle DIMENSION: 2.5” x 1.5" (6.5 x 4.5 cm) ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), fasten off (F/O) SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

Body (white and brown yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with white yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnds 4 - 9: sc even (24); DO NOT F/O the white yarn


Rnd 10: insert the hook into the back loop of the 1st stitch of the previous rnd, join brown yarn and work 1 sc in each st around (24)

Rnds 11 - 12: sc even (24); DO NOT F/O the brown yarn


NECK FEATHERS

Rnd 9b: holding the work upside-down (facing the inside of the puppet), insert the hook into the front loop of the 1st stitch of rnd #9, work (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc into one st, 1 sl st into the next st) rep around (36); F/O and wave in ends.


Rnds 13 - 19: keep working with brown yarn, sc even (24)

Rnd 20: sl st even (24); F/O and wave in ends



Embroider the EYES with black yarn (3 vertical lines) and white yarn (1 diagonal line) between rnds #4-7, 4 sts apart.


Embroider the EYEBROWS with black yarn between rnds # 2-4, 4 sts apart.


BEAK (Yellow yarn)

Rnd 1: 4 sc in a mr (4)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (6)

Rnd 3: sc even (6); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the beak between rnds # 5-7.

Do not stuff the beak.
