Bees Nursery Mobile Free Crochet Pattern


Happy June my friends! I hope you had a wonderful start of the month!


I'm finally back with our weekly appointment to share with you all a super sweet crochet project - a Bees Crib Mobile.


Four happy bees, along with a beautiful flower are part of this mobile that will delight and entertain your little one.


Extremely easy to make, this project is a wonderful gift idea for a baby shower.

 

The Bees Mobile is made with Feels like Butta® yarn by LION BRAND YARN! This velvety fiber yarn is incredibly soft and comes in a variety of pastel colors, perfect for baby's projects!

EASY


SIZE

Bee: about 4.5 in. long (11.5 cm)

Flower: about 4 in. tall (10 cm)

Ball: about 1 in. tall (2.5 cm)


MATERIALS

· Lion Brand® FEELS LIKE BUTTA® (Art. # 215)

#157F Yellow 1 ball (A)

#125F Cocoa (B)

#158A Lemon1 ball (C)

#101A Pink 1 ball (D)

#140M Dusty Pink 1 ball (E)


· Lion Brand® Crochet Hook Size E (3.5 mm)


· Lion Brand® Clover Darning Needle Set


OTHER MATERIALS

Poly Stuffing

8 plastic safety eyes, 6mm diameter


GAUGE

20 sc + 20 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm).

Bee's Body

With A, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 8 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 4: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnds 5 - 7: 1 sc in each st around – 32 sc.

Insert plastic safety eyes between Rnds 4 and 5, about 9 sts apart.

Rnd 8: With B, 1 sl st in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnds 9 - 10: 1 sc in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnd 11: With A, 1 sl st in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnds 12 -14: 1 sc in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnd 15: With B, 1 sl st in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnds 16 - 17: 1 sc in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnd 18: With A, 1 sl st in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnd 19: 1 sc in each st around – 32 sc.

Rnd 20: * sc in next 2 sts, st2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Begin stuffing piece and continue stuffing until piece is complete.

Rnd 21: * sc in next 2 sts, st2tog; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnd 22: * sc in next st, st2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Rnd 23: With B, 1 sl st in each st around – 12 sc.

Rnd 24: * sc in next 4 sts, st2tog; rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnd 25: * sc in next 3 sts, st2tog; rep from * twice – 8 sc.

Rnd 26: * sc in next 2 sts, st2tog; rep from * twice – 6 sc.


Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.



Wings (make eight)

With C, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 6 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 12 sc.

Rnd 3: sc in each st around – 12 sc

Rnd 4: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnd 5: sc in each st around – 10 sc

Rnd 6: * sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * twice – 8 sc.

Rnd 7: sc in each st around – 8 sc


Fasten off, leaving a long strand for sewing Wings to Body. Do not stuff Wings.


Balls (make 4 for each color)

With D/E, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 6 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 12 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnds 4 - 6: 1 sc in each st around – 18 sc.

Rnd 7: * sc in next 1 st, st2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Stuff the piece.

Rnd 8: sc2tog around – 6 sc


Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.


Flower Center Disk

With C, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 8 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 3: sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 4: sc2tog around – 8 sc


Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.


Flower Petals

With E, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 6 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 12 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnd 4: sc in each st around – 18 sc.

Rnd 5: * sc in next 1 st, st2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Rnd 6: sc in each st around – 12 sc.

Rnd 7: * sc in next 4 sts, st2tog; rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnd 8: sc in each st around – 10 sc.

Rnd 9: * sc in next 3 sts, st2tog; rep from * twice – 8 sc.


Stuff the Petals.

Fasten off, leaving a long strand for sewing Petals to Center Disk.


FINISHING

Using photograph as a guide and yarn tails still attached to pieces whenever possible, assemble Mobile’s parts as follows:

With C, sew Wings to Body, 4 sts apart.

With black thread, embroider Eyebrows between Rnds 5 and 6.

With black thread, embroider Mouth between Rnds 3 and 4, 7 sts long.

With E, sew Petals to Center Disk, between Rnds 2 and 3.

Weave in ends.


Assemble the Mobile

Cut five 25 in. (64 cm) length of C.

· Thread length of C onto blunt needle. Insert needle from the bottom center part of Bee, through the body, into Ball in color D and Ball in color E. Weave in the bottom loose end of the yarn string (x 4).

· Thread length of C onto blunt needle. Insert needle into Flower’s Center Disk, between petals. Tie into a tight knot. Weave in the bottom loose end of the yarn string.

· Attach the 5 strings to mobile’s arms.
