Easter Egg Bunny Free Crochet Pattern


...and here we are with the last character of my Easter Egg Trio: a lovely brown bunny!


With Easter just around the corner, this easy and quick project is exactly what you need to create some cute home decoration or a last minute gift for a little one.

Here's the FREE pattern to create the BUNNY EGG!


YARN: Light (3) Brown, Beige and Pink; Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: 2.5 mm Crochet Hook; Polyester Filling

DIMENSION: 4.5” x 2.5”

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), fasten off (F/O), round (rnd)

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds (join with a sl st and ch 1 at the end of each round) unless otherwise instructed.

BUNNY EGG


BODY (brown and beige yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with brown yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnd 5: sc even (32)

Rnd 6: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (40)

Rnd 7 - 8: sc even (40)

Rnd 9: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (48)

Rnd 10 - 15: sc even (48)

Rnd 16: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (56)

Rnd 17 - 20: sc even (56)

Rnd 21: 26 sc, switch to beige yarn, 4 sc, switch to brown yarn, 26 (56)

Rnd 22: keep working with brown yarn, 25 sc, switch to beige yarn, 6 sc, switch to brown yarn, 25 (56)

Rnd 23: keep working with brown yarn, 24 sc, switch to beige yarn, 8 sc, switch to brown yarn, 24 (56)

Rnd 24: keep working with brown yarn, (6 sc, 1 sc inc) rep 3 times, 3 sc, switch to beige yarn, 3 sc, 1 sc inc, 4 sc, switch to brown yarn, 2 sc, 1 sc inc, (6 sc, 1 sc inc) rep 3 times (64)

Rnd 25: keep working with brown yarn, 27 sc, switch to beige yarn, 10 sc, switch to brown yarn, 27 (64)

Rnd 26: rep rnd # 25 (64); start stuffing the egg

Rnd 27: (6 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (56)

Rnd 28: (5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (48)

Rnd 29: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (40)

Rnd 30: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (32)

Rnd 31: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 32: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (16); finish stuffing the egg firmly

Rnd 33: sc dec around (8)

F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.


Embroider the eyes (between rnds # 10-12) and the nose (between rnds # 12-16) with black cotton thread.


Embroider the cheeks (between rnds # 13-14) with pink yarn.



EARS (brown and beige yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: starting off with brown yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (12)

Rnd 3: sc even (12)

Rnd 4: 5 sc, switch to beige yarn, 1 sc inc, switch to brown yarn, 5 sc, 1 sc inc (14)

Rnd 5: 5 sc, switch to beige yarn, 1 sc, 1 sc inc, switch to brown yarn, 6 sc, 1 sc inc (16)

Rnd 6 - 9: keep working with brown yarn, 5 sc, switch to beige yarn, 3 sc, switch to brown yarn, 8 sc (16)

Rnd 10: working with brown yarn only, (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (12)

Rnd 11: sc dec around (6)

Rnd 12: sc even (6)

F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.


Do not stuff the ears, flatten them instead before sewing them on the top of the egg between rnds # 2-5.
