YARN: Light (3) - Gray, Black and White
MATERIALS: 2.5 mm Crochet HookYarn Needle
DIMENSION: 2.5” x 2” (7 x 5 cm)
ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), front loop only (FLO), fasten off (F/O)

Body (gray yarn)
Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)
Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)
Rnds 4 - 7: sc even (24)
Rnd 8: 10 sc, 4 chs, skip 4 sts, 10 sc (20 sc, 4 ch)
Rnd 9: 10 sc, 1 sc in each chain, 10 sc (24)
Rnds 10 - 19: sc even (24)
Rnd 20: sl st even (24); F/O and wave in ends
Trunk (gray yarn)
Rnd 1: insert the hook in the FLO of any one stitch of the hole left on the body part. Work 1 sc into each of the 8 total sts (8)
Rnd 2: sc even (8)
Rnd 3: 6 sc, 1 sc dec (7)
Rnd 4: sc even (7)
Rnd 5: 1 sc dec, 5 sc (6)
Rnd 6: sc even (6)
Rnd 7: 2 sc, 1 sc dec, 2 sc (5)
Rnd 8: sc even (5)
Rnd 9: sl st even (5); do not F/O, leave a long strand of yarn to sew the tip of the trunk to the body.
Embroider the EYES with black yarn (3 vertical lines) and white yarn (1 diagonal line) between rnds # 4-7, 6 sts apart.
Embroider the EYEBROWS with black yarn between rnds # 3-4, 4 sts apart.
Right Ear (gray yarn)
Row 1: 2 dc, 2 sc, 2 hdc in a mr (6); ch 1 and turn; pull the yarn tail to close up the loop nice at tight, but DO NOT join the last and the first stitches.
Row 2: 2 hdc inc, 2 sc inc, 2 dc inc (12); ch 2 and turn
Row 3: 4 dc, 2 sc, 2 sl st, 4 hdc (12); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the ear between rnds # 2-11.
Left Ear (gray yarn)
Row 1: 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 dc in a mr (6); ch2; pull the yarn tail to close up the loop nice at tight, but DO NOT join the last and the first stitches.
Row 2: 2 dc inc, 2 sc inc, 2 hdc inc (12); ch1 and turn
Row 3: 4 hdc, 2 sl st, 2 sc, 4 dc (12); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the ear between rnds # 2-11.
