Eric the Doll Free Crochet Pattern

Happy Tuesday my friends!

Today I'll be sharing with you all the instructions to create the body, the pants and the shoes...if you want to complete Eric's outfit, head over my Etsy page to get the full pattern!

BEGINNER


SIZE

About 12 in. tall (31 cm)

YARN

· Lion Brand® WOOL EASE® (Art. #620)

#099 Fisherman 1 ball (A)

#024A Oatmeal 1 ball (B)

#114B Denim 1 ball (C)

#087 Arrowwood 1 ball (D)


OTHER MATERIALS

Crochet Hook Size F (3.75 mm)

Yarn Needle

Black Embroidery Floss

Poly Filling


GAUGE

20 sc + 20 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm).


ABBREVIATIONS

beg = begin(ninig)

ch = chain

rep = repeat

rnd(s) = round(s)

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

dc= double crochet

sl st = slip stitch

st(s) = stitch(es)

Arms

With A make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 6 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * twice – 8 sc.

Rnds 3 - 4: 1 sc in each st around – 8 sc.

Rnd 5: With B, 1 sc in each st around – 8 sc.

Rnds 6 - 16: 1 sc in each st around – 8 sc.


Fasten off. Stuff the Arm.



Legs, Body and Head

Leg I

With A, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 8 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st;

rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnds 3 - 21: 1 sc in each st around – 10 sc.

Fasten off. Stuff the Leg.


Leg II

Work same as Leg I and switch to B in the last st.

Do not fasten off. Stuff the Leg.


Join Legs

With B

Rnd 22: Ch 2 (for space between legs), insert hook in any st of last rnd of Leg I and draw up a loop, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 9 sts; working in back bumps of chains between legs, sc in next 2 chs; working in sts of Leg II, sc in first st following chain between legs, sc in next 9 sts; working in chains between legs, sc in next 2 chs – 24 sts.


Do not fasten off.

Body

Rnd 23: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts – 28 sc.

Rnds 24 - 25: sc in each st around – 28 sc.


Continue stuffing until piece is complete.


Rnd 26: With C, * sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 27: sc in each st around – 24 sc.

Rnd 28: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 20 sc.

Rnds 29 - 34: sc in each st around – 20 sc.


Join Arms

Rnd 35: sc in next 6 sc, insert hook in any st of last rnd of Arm I and draw up a loop, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 7 sts; working on Body, sc in next 10 sts, insert hook in any st of last rnd of Arm II and draw up a loop, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 7 sts; working on

Rnd 36: * sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnd 37: * sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 28 sc.

Rnd 38: * sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 39: * sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnd 40: With A, working in back loop, * sc in next st, sc2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Rnd 41: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnd 42: sc in each st around – 10 sc.

Rnd 43: working in front loop, 2 sc in each st around – 20 sc.

Rnd 44: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 30 sc.

Rnd 45: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 40 sc.

Rnds 46 - 54: sc in each st around – 40 sc.


Finish stuffing piece.


Rnd 55: * sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnd 56: * sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 57: * sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnd 58: * sc in next st, sc2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Rnd 59: sc2tog around – 6


Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.

With black embroidery floss, embroider the Eyes between Rnds 50 and 52, about 6 sts apart.


With A, embroider the Nose between Rnds 50 and 51.



Boots

With E, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 10 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: * sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st;

rep from * twice – 12 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st;

rep from * twice – 14 sc.

Rnds 4 - 7: sc in each st around – 14 sts.


Fasten off.



Hair

With D make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: work 8 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 4: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnd 5: * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 40 sc.

Rnds 6 - 13: sc in each st around – 40 sc.

Rnd 14: 1 sc in the next 9 sts, 1 hdc in the next 2 sts, 1 dc in the next 9 sts, 1 hdc in the next 2 sts, 1 sc in the next 2 sts, 1 sl st in the next 2 sts, 1 sc in the next 14 sts – 40 sts.


Fasten off, leaving a long strand for sewing Hair to Head.



Pants

With C

Rnd 1: work 16 ch, insert the hook into the 1st ch to close the ring and sc in each ch around – 16.

Rnd 2: sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 3: working in the front loop, * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 24 sc.


Rnds 4 - 5: sc in each st around – 24 sc.

Rnd 6: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 20 sc.

Rnds 7 - 12: sc in each st around – 20 sc.

Rnd 13: * sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog; rep from * twice – 18 sc.


Leg II

Work same as Leg I but do not fasten off.

Join Legs

Rnd 14: insert hook in any st of last rnd of Leg I and draw up a loop, ch1 and sc in same st, sc in next 14 sts (leaving 3 sts unworked); working 1 sc in st #4 of last Rnd of Leg II (leaving st 1 to 3 unworked), sc in next 14 sts – 30 sts.

Rnd 15: sc in each st around – 30 sc.

Rnd 16: * sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 17: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 20 sc.

Rnd 18: sc in each st around – 20 sc.

Rnd 19: sl st in each st around – 20 sc.


Fasten off.


With C sew the gap between the pants’ legs (crotch).
