I cannot get enough of this lovely bobble pattern - it's absolutely super easy to crochet and the look of it is just gorgeous.

Here's the FREE pattern!


YARN: Light (3) - Green, White and Yellow; Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: 3.25 mm Crochet Hook; Poly Filling; 9 mm Plastic Safety Eyes

DIMENSION: 11” x 10” (27 x25 cm)

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), bobble stitch (bo), back loop only (BLO), fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

BLANKET PANEL A (green – work in rows)

Row 1: 38 ch, 1 sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, 36 sc (37); ch 2 and turn

Row 2: dc even (37); ch 1 and turn

Row 3: sc even (37); ch 2 and turn

Rows 4 - 23: rep rows 2-3 (37); F/O and cut the yarn



BLANKET PANEL B (green yarn; work in rows)

Row 1: 38 ch, 1 sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, 36 sc (37); ch 2 and turn

Row 2: 1 dc into the 1st st, 1 ch, (skip one st, 1 bo, ch 1, skip 1 st, work 1 dc into the next st) rep 9 times (19 sts, 9 chs); ch 1 and turn

Row 3: 1 sc into the dc st, (1 sc into the space between the dc and the bobble st, 1 sc into the bobble st, 1 sc into the ch space, 1 sc into the dc st) rep 9 times (37); ch 2 and turn

Rows 4 - 23: rep rows 2-3; DO NOT F/O


Do not F/O or cut the yarn. Place the two panels together, matching up all sides and making sure the right side of the bubble panel is facing outwards. Start joining the panels by crocheting the edges together with single crochet stitches. Work (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) stitches in each corner. F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.


HEAD (green and white yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with green yarn – 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 hdc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: (2 sc inc, 2 hdc inc) rep twice (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, (1 hdc, 1 hdc inc) rep twice, (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, (1 hdc, 1 hdc inc) rep twice (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) (32)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) (40)

Rnd 6: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) (48)

Rnds 7 - 9: sc even (48)

Rnd 10: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) (56)

Rnds 11 - 14: sc even (56)

Rnd 15: 17 sc, switch to white yarn and work 22 sc in BLO, switch back to green yarn and work 17 sc (56)

Rnd 16: [continue working with green yarn, (3 sc, 1 sc dec), (5 sc, 1 sc dec), 5 sc], [switch to white yarn, 1 sc dec, (5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 5 sc], [switch back to green yarn, 1 sc dec, (5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 2 sc] (48)

Rnd 17: [continue working with green yarn, (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 3 sc], [switch to white yarn, 1 sc dec, (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 4 sc], [switch back to green yarn, 1 sc dec, (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 1 sc] (40)

Rnd 18: [continue working with green yarn, (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 3 sc], [switch to white yarn, 1 sc dec, (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, 3 sc], [switch back to green yarn, 1 sc dec, (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice] (32); start stuffing the head

Rnd 19: working with green yarn only, (2 sc, 1 sc dec) (24)

Rnd 20: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) (16); finish stuffing the head

Rnd 21: sc dec around (8); F/O, close the hole and leave a long strand of yarn.



Eyes (green yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 hdc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: (2 sc inc, 2 hdc inc) rep twice (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, (1 hdc, 1 sc hdc) rep twice, (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, (1 hdc, 1 sc hdc) rep twice (24)

Rnds 4 - 5: sc even (24); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the eyes to the head.


Insert the plastic safety eyes between rnds #3-4 on the wider side, secure them in place with the washer.

Sew the eyes to the head, between rnds # 1-9. Stuff while sewing.



Crown (yellow yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: working in BLO, sc even (12)

Rnd 4: (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 sl into the dc, 2 ch, 1 sl st into next st) rep 6 times; F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

Sew the front loop stitches of rnd 2 of the crown to the top of the head, in between the eyes.


Feet/Hands (green yarn; make 4)

- Make 3 toes –

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: sc even (12)

Rnd 4: sc dec around (6)

Rnds 5 - 6: sc even (6); F/O and hide the yarn.


Do not cut the yarn once you have completed the 3rd toe.


Do not stuff the toes.


- Now it’s time to assemble the foot/hand -

Rnd 7: continue working on the 3rd toe, and crochet 3 sc, move to the 2nd toe and crochet 3 sc, keep working on the 1st toe and crochet 6 sc, go back working on the to the 2nd toe and crochet 3 sc, move back to the 3rd toe and crochet 3 sc (18)

Rnd 8: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) repeat around (12)

Rnd 9: sc even (12)

Rnd 10: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) repeat around (8)

Rnd 11: flatten the last round and work through both layers, 4 sc (4); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.


Sew the head to the upper side of the blanket.

Sew the feet to the lower side of the blanket.

Sew the hands to the right and left sides of the blanket.


Color the inside of the MOUTH and the CHEEKS with pink blush.
