Today, I’m sharing the free instructions to crochet her cozy coat, perfect for braving the Arctic chill! The coat is the heart of this project, bringing character and detail to the Inuit Girl.

Coat
With E (work in rows).
Row 1: Ch 21, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in the next 19 chs – 20 sc; Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in the next 2 sts, V st [1 sc, 2 chs, 1 sc into the same st] into the next st, 1 sc into the next 3 sts, V st into the next st, 1 sc into the next 6 sts, V st into the next st, 1 sc into the next 3 sts, V st into the next st, 1 sc into the next 2 sts [20] Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in the next 3 sts, V st into the ch-2 space, 1 sc into the next 5 sts, V st into the ch-2 space, 1 sc into the next 8 sts, V st into the ch-2 space, 1 sc into the next 5 sts, V st into the ch-2 space, 1 sc into the next 3 sts [28] Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in the next 4 sts, 2 sc into the ch-2 space, ch 3, skip the next 5 sts, 2 sc into the ch-2 space, sc in the next 10 sts, 2 sc into the ch-2 space, ch 3, skip the next 5 sts, 2 sc into the ch-2 space, sc in the next 4 sts [32] Turn.

Hood
With E (work in rows).
Row 1: Insert the hook into st #3 of the 1st Row of Coat, work 1 sc, 1 sc in the next 15 sts, leaving the last two stitches unworked [16] Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) rep around [20] Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) rep around [24] Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) rep around [28] Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st) rep around [32] Turn.
Rows 6 - 15: Ch 1, sc in each st along [32]                                                          Â

Work in Rnds from now on.
Rnd 16: Ch 6, insert the hook into the 1st st of the same Row, (sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog) rep x 8, 1 sc in each of the next 6 chs [30]
Rnd 17: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog) rep around [24]
Rnd 18: Ch 1, (sc in next st, sc2tog) rep around [16]
Rnd 19: Ch 1, sc2tog around [8]

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.
Sleeves (make two)
With E.
Rnd 1:Â Insert the hook into any st of the sleeve hole, work 1 sc, 1 sc in the next 12 sts [13]
Rnds 3 - 8: Ch 1, sc in each st around [13]
Rnd 9: With F, ch 1, sc in each st around [13]
Rnd 10: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st [15]
Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc in each st around [15]

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Fold down the white section.
Border
With F.
Rnd 1:Â Sc even around the Coat and Hood border; work 3 sc only into the bottom corner sts of Coat.Â
Rnd 2:Â Sl st even around.Â

Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in ends.
Sew 3 Toggles (wooden beads) to one side of the Coat front.Â
Â
With F, create the toggles closures by working 3 very tight sets of 14 chains.
Attach them on the other side of the coat front with the extra lengths at the beginning and end of the chains.

Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in ends.
