Lisa the Cat Free Crochet Pattern




If you have a baby shower coming up for someone, a handmade item is a wonderful gift.


I especially designed Lisa the Cat as a crib toy that any baby would enjoy snuggling with.

She's a soft, sweet and most of all safe amigurumi!

You can pick your favorite color combinations and create a unique item!


So if you're looking for an easy amigurumi pattern, today's project is perfect for you.


Lisa the Cat is approximately 11" high.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate

YARN: Medium Weight Cotton Yarn (Lace 4) in Light and Dark Gray, White, Black, Green, Lilac and Purple colors

OTHER MATERIALS: Polyester Fiber Filling

HOOK SIZE: E/3,50 mm

STITCHES USED and ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), decrease (dec), increase (inc), fasten off (F/O).

INSTRUCTIONS: work in rows (join with a sl st and ch1 at the end of each row) otherwise instructed.

HEAD (dark gray yarn)

1) 8 sc in a mr (8)

2) inc around (16)

3) *1 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (24)

4) *2 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (32)

5) *3 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (40)

6) *4 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (48)

7) sc even (48)

8) *5 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (56)

9-19) sc even (56)

20) *5 sc, dec*, repeat ** around (48)

21) sc even (48)

22) *4 sc, dec*, repeat ** around (40); start stuffing the head

23) *3 sc, dec*, repeat ** around (32)

20) *2 sc, dec*, repeat ** around (24); F/O and cut the yarn.


Finish stuffing the doll’s head firmly.


Embroider the EYES with some scrap black yarn (between rounds 10/11 of the head, 9 stitches apart).


MUZZLE (white)

1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) inc around (12)

3) *1 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (18)

4) *2 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (24)

5) sc even (24); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the muzzle to the head.

Stuff the muzzle firmly as you sew it (between rounds 12/20 of the head).


Embroider the NOSE and the MOUTH with some scrap black yarn.


CHEEKS (lilac yarn, make two)

1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) inc around (12)

3) *1 sc, inc*, repeat ** around (18)

F/O and leave a long tail for sewing.


EARS (dark gray and lilac yarn; make two)

1) start working with gray yarn, 4 sc in a mr (4)

2) *1 sc, inc*, repeat ** twice (6)

3) 2 sc, 1 gray sc and 1 lilac sc in the same st, switch back to gray yarn, 2 sc, 1 inc (8)

4) 3 sc, switch to lilac yarn, 1 inc, 1 sc, switch back to gray yarn, 2 sc, 1 inc (10)

5) 3 sc, switch to lilac yarn, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, switch back to gray yarn, 3 sc, 1 inc (12)

6) 3 sc, switch to lilac yarn, 2 sc, inc, 1 sc, switch back to gray yarn, 4 sc, 1 inc (14); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the ear to the head.

Do not stuff the ear; flatten it instead before attaching it between rounds 2/7 of the head.


LEGS AND BODY (light and dark gray, lilac, purple, white, green yarn)

Make two:

1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) inc around (12)

3-17) sc even (12); F/O and hide the yarn and stuff the leg

Do no cut the yarn once you have completed the 2nd leg, CH 3 INSTEAD.

Merge the two legs together:

18) join the yarn with a sl st to the 1st leg, ch1 and sc in the same st, crochet around 11 sc, 1 sc in each of the 3 stitches between the two legs, keep working on the 2nd leg, 12 sc, 1 sc in each of the 3 stitches between the two legs (30)

19) switch to lilac yarn, sc even (30)

20-21) sc even (30)

22) switch to purple yarn, sc even (30)

23) switch to white yarn, sc even (30)

24) sc even (30); keep stuffing the body

25) switch to green yarn, sc even (30)

26-27) sc even (30)

28) switch to light gray yarn, sc even (30)

29) sc even (30)

30) switch to purple yarn, sc even (30)

31) switch to lilac yarn, sc even (30)

32-33) sc even (30)

34) switch to white yarn, sc even (30)

35) sc even (30)

36) switch to green yarn, sc even (30)

37) switch to light gray yarn, sc even (30)

38-39) sc even (30)

40) switch to purple yarn, sc even (30)

41) switch to lilac yarn, *3 sc, dec*, repeat ** around (24)

42) sc even (24); keep stuffing the body

43) switch to white yarn, sc even (24)

44) switch to dark gray yarn, sc even (24); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the body to the head. Finish stuffing the body firmly while attaching the two parts together.


ARMS (dark gray yarn; make two)

1) 5 sc in a mr (5)

2) inc around (10)

3-16) sc even (10)

17) *3 sc, dec*, repeat ** twice (8)

18) sc even (8); stuff the arm

9) flatten the arm and crochet through both layers, 4 sc (4); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the arm to the side of the body.


TAIL (dark gray yarn)

1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) *2 sc, inc*, repeat ** twice (8)

3-21) sc even (8)

22) *2 sc, dec*, repeat ** twice (6)

23) sc even (6)

24) flatten the tail and crochet through both layers, 3 sc (3); F/O and leave a long stand of yarn to sew the tail to the back of the body.
