Valentine Bunny Free Crochet Pattern

It's time to plan for Valentine's Day!


Happy Tuesday my crafty friends!


Since being with our loved ones is not always possible nowadays, showing that we care about them has never been so important.

You may say "I LOVE YOU" with beautiful cards, gorgeous flowers, delicious sweets ... or with a thoughtful handmade gift!


So today, I want to share with you all the perfect project to crochet the sweetest Valentine Bunny that will make your Valentine's heart melt!

Here's the FREE pattern!


YARN: Light (3) Dove, Salmon, Linen; Classic Cotton Thread in Linen and Black

MATERIALS: C2 - 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Two 6 mm Black Safety Plastic Eyes

DIMENSION: H. 6.5” x W. 3”

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), front loop only (FLO), fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds

(join with a sl st and ch 1 at the end of each round) unless otherwise instructed.

HEAD AND BODY (dove yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (30)

Rnd 6: sc even (30)

Rnd 7: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (36)

Rnd 8 - 9: sc even (36)

Rnd 10: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (42)

Rnd 11: sc even (42)

Rnd 12: (6 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (48)

Place the safety eyes between rnds # 11-12,

8 stitches apart.

F/O cut the yarn and wave in end.


Embroider the eye contour with linen cotton thread.


Embroider the eyebrows (between rnds # 6-9), with black cotton thread.


Embroider the cheek lines (between rnds # 13-14), with salmon yarn.


MUZZLE (dove yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)


F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the muzzle to the front of the head, between rnds # 11-17; stuff the muzzle while attaching it to the body.


Embroider the nose with salmon yarn.


EARS (dove and linen yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with dove yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: sc even (12)

Rnd 4: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (14)

Rnd 5: 6 sc, switch to linen yarn, 2 sc, switch back to dove yarn, 6 sc (14)

Rnd 6: 6 sc, switch to linen yarn, 2 sc inc, switch back to dove yarn, 6 sc (16)

Rnd 7: 6 sc, switch to linen yarn, 4 sc, switch back to dove yarn, 6 sc (16)

Rnd 8: 5 sc, work 1 sc with dove yarn and 1 sc with linen yarn into the next st, keep working with linen yarn, 4 sc, then work 1 sc with linen yarn and 1 sc with dove yarn into the next st, keep working with dove yarn, 5 sc (18)

Rnd 9 - 10: 6 sc, switch to linen yarn, 6 sc, switch back to dove yarn, 6 sc (18)

Rnd 11: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, switch to linen yarn, (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice, switch to dove yarn, (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (12)

Rnd 12: 4 sc, switch to linen yarn, 4 sc, switch back to dove yarn, 4 sc (12)

Rnd 13: 4 sc, switch to linen yarn, 2 sc dec, switch back to dove yarn, 4 sc (10)

Rnd 14: 4 sc, switch to linen yarn, 2 sc, switch back to dove yarn, 4 sc (10)


F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the ears to the top of the head, between rnds # 1-5; do not stuff the ears, flatten them instead before sewing them to the body.


LEGS (dove yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 3: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (10)

Rnd 4 - 8: sc even (10)

Rnd 9: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (8)


F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the legs to the bottom of the body; stuff the legs lightly.


ARMS (dove yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2 - 8: sc even (8)

Rnd 9: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (6)


F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the arms to the side of the body, between rnds # 24-28; stuff the arms lightly.


TAIL (dove yarn)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4 - 6: sc even (24)

Rnd 7: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (18)

Rnd 8: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (12)


F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the tail to the back of the body, between rnds # 32-36; stuff the tail firmly before attaching it to the body.


HEART (salmon yarn)

Make two:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)

Rnd 4 - 5: sc even (18)


Do not cut the yarn once you have crocheted the 2nd part.


Merge the 2 parts together:

Rnd 6: join the yarn to any one st of the last round of the first made part, work 1 sc dec, 14 sc, 1 sc dec, keep working on the 2nd part, 1 sc dec, 14 sc, 1 sc dec (32)

Round 7: (1 sc dec, 5 sc, 1 sc dec, 5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (26)

Round 8: (5 sc, 1 sc dec, 11 sc, 1 sc dec, 6 sc (24)

Round 9: (5 sc, 1 sc dec, 10 sc, 1 sc dec, 5 sc (22)

Round 10: (5 sc, 1 sc dec, 9 sc, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (20)

Round 11: (3 sc, 2 sc dec, 6 sc, 2 sc dec, 3 sc (16)

Round 12: sc dec around (8)

Round 13: sc dec around (4)


F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.

Use a strand of dove yarn to secure the heart in between the arms.
