Valentine Envelope Free Crochet Pattern



Whenever we want to say "I love you" to our soulmate or let our friends know that we care about them, writing a letter is alway the nicest way to express our feelings!


...but let's crochet something that would make the letter even more special!


Today I will be showing you all how to create a lovely envelope for Valentine's Day.


This is such an easy and quick project. You can choose your favorite colors and create your special envelope!

Here's the FREE pattern!


YARN: Light (3) in White and Pink


MATERIALS: 2.75 mm Hook; Yarn Needle


DIMENSION: 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm)


ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), fasten off (F/O)


SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

ENVELOPE (white yarn; work in rows unless otherwise instructed)


Row 1: 37 chs, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 35 sc (36); ch 1 and turn

Row 2: sc even (36); ch 1 and turn

Row 3 - 38: repeat row #2 (36)


Once you have completed row 38, ch 1, turn and crochet around the entire panel.

Work 1 sc in each st, work 3 sc in each corner.


Fasten off and leave a long tail on yarn.


Now, it’s time to sew the corners together.


Pull the bottom corner and one side piece together and sew the edges together.

Pull the other side corner and sew it together to the bottom one.


HEART (pink yarn; work in rows)


Row 1: work 2 chs, then work 2 sc into the 2nd ch from the hook (2); ch 1 and turn

Row 2: 2 sc inc (4); ch 1 and turn

Row 3: 1 sc inc, 2 sc, 1 sc inc (6); ch 1 and turn

Row 4: 1 sc inc, 4 sc, 1 sc inc (8); ch 1 and turn

Row 5: 4 sc, 1 sc inc, 3 sc (9); ch 1 and turn

Row 6: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc into the next st, 1 hdc and 1 sc into the next one, 1 sl st, 1 sc and 1 hdc into the next st, 4 dc into the next one, 1 hdc, 1 sc (17); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.


Place the heart at the junction of the three corners of the envelope.

Use the extra strand of pink yarn to sew the lower section of the heart to the envelope.


Use the open section to insert the top corner of the envelope into to keep the envelope close.
