I know you've already set up your craft mind on the next holiday...and so I'm here to help with a very fun crochet project for the Easter time!
Let me introduce you Yuri the Chick! He's such an adorable chubby baby chicken with a cute egg shell hat!
The finished doll is approximately 3.5" tall.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
YARN: Medium Weight Cotton Yarn (Lace 4) in Yellow, Orange, White and Black
OTHER MATERIALS: Polyester Fiber Filling; 9 mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes
HOOK SIZES: E/3,25 mm
STITCHES USED and ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), round (rnd), chain (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), decrease (dec), increase (inc), back loop only (BLO), fasten off (F/O).
INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds (join with a sl st and ch1 at the end of each row) otherwise instructed.

BODY (yellow yarn)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) sc inc around (12)
3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (18)

5) *3 sc, 1 sc inc *, repeat ** around (30)
6) sc even (30)
7) *4 sc, 1 sc inc *, repeat ** around (36)
8) sc even (36)
9) *5 sc, 1 sc inc *, repeat ** around (42) 10) *6 sc, 1 sc inc *, repeat ** around (48)
11-12) sc even (48); insert the safety eyes between rnds #8-9, 6 stitches apart

Embroider the EYELASHES with some scrap black yarn.
BEAK (orange yarn)

3) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (8); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to attach the beak between rnds # 8-11 of the body.
FEET (orange yarn; make two)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

3) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (10)
4) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (12)
5) flatten the feet, and start crocheting
through both layers, 1 sc inc, 4 sc, 1 sc inc (8)
F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the foot
to the body as shown in the picture.
WINGS (yellow yarn; make two)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (8)
3) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (10)
4) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (12)
5) *5 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (14); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the wing to the side of the body between rounds #10-16. Do not stuff the wing, flatten it instead before attaching it.
TAIL (yellow yarn)

3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (12)
4) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (12)
F/O and leave a long string of yarn to sew the tail
to the back of the body.
Stuff the tail lightly before attaching it.
EGG SHELL TOP (white yarn)
1) 8 sc in a mr (8)
2) sc inc around (16)
3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (24)
4) sc even (24)
5) *2 sc, 1 sc inc *, repeat ** around (32)
6) *1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1ch, 1 sl st into the next st, 1 sl st into the next one*, repeat ** 4 times, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 1 ch, 1 sl st into the next st (32); F/O and either cut the yarn or leave a long tail to secure the egg shell to the top of the head.

On the tail, you have 1 sc 1 incr. 12 stitches. And the next round 1 sc 1 incr 12 stitches. Should round 4 be sc around for 12 stitches or 18 stitches total?
